As an all-female team, we celebrate women every day. Today, on International Women’s Day, we reflect on what it stands for: rights, justice and action for women and girls around the world. We’re also thinking about the women who shape our lives and inspire us - through resilience, care and the strength of those who came before us.

The women who hold us up
On nurturing, supporting and showing up for the people who count on us.
"Since becoming a mum five years ago, I’ve come to respect women in a much deeper way - especially in the role of mother. Whether it’s as a mother to children, or in the mother archetype towards others: nurturing, protecting, offering unconditional love. The life-giving energy of the mother is the backbone of so much of human life. Behind the joy of every person we know is the presence of a woman and the care she gives. And as a woman, to give and hold space through the cycles of feminine energy, with all its ebbs and flows, there is nothing quite so magical as a woman uplifted enough to care for those who rely on her. Thank you to every woman who inspires and encourages me." - Jodi
Olivia Rubin
Designer
"On this International Women’s Day, I’m reminded how inspired I am by the incredible women around me. My friends, family and colleagues who show strength and resilience in so many different roles. In business especially, I admire women who lead with honesty and authenticity. Olivia Rubin, with her colourful, sustainable fashion brand, has shown real courage in speaking openly about the importance of managing growth in a way that protects her mental health and family life. I have so much respect for that approach. It’s a powerful reminder that success can and should be defined on your own terms." - Sophie
Kate Winslet
Actor
"I admire Kate Winslet for her authenticity and strength. She champions ageing gracefully, embraces natural beauty, and challenges unrealistic standards in the film industry. Her honesty, confidence, and advocacy for women’s equality make her an inspiring role model for me." -Emma
Michelle Obama
Attorney and former First Lady of the United States
"I’ve been listening to Michelle Obama’s memoir Becoming, and one of her ideas really sticks with me: when girls are educated, countries become stronger and more prosperous. She also reminds us that failure is part of growing and building resilience, not something to fear. I see that same spirit in my colleagues at Team Floks, each bringing their own strengths and trying new things." -Lynne
Francesca Albanese
United Nations Special Rapporteur
"The UN Special Rapporteur for Palestine embodies many of the qualities I admire in people: authenticity, speaking out against injustice, and advocating for fairness and tolerance, even when doing so can be challenging and may come at personal cost. These values are easy to uphold in private, but in the sometimes polarised society we are living in, standing up for what you believe is right can feel like an act of bravery. I am deeply inspired by her compassion and commitment." -Sara
Floks customer
A woman we met this week
"My IWD inspiration is a Floks customer who has literally stopped me in my tracks this week. She has left me in complete awe; of her strength, her positivity, her resilience, her ability to advocate for her own body, her trust that life will guide her if she listens. In the face of adversity, there are those who crumble and those who rise. This incredible lady is most definitely rising." -Liz
