Celebrating the women behind Floks this International Women's Day 2025
As our all-female team continues to grow here at Floks HQ, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible women who make this journey so special. Many of them have taken career breaks to raise their children, and watching them step back into their professional roles with growing confidence each month and year is nothing short of inspiring.

The juggle is real, balancing motherhood, creative passions, and professional aspiration, but the unwavering support we give each other makes it all possible. These women bring so much dedication, talent, and heart to Floks, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found a team that not only shares the vision but also truly believes in what we are building together.

This International Women’s Day,  I want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of them. Their resilience, creativity, and drive are what make Floks thrive, and I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside them.

Here’s to strong women, to lifting each other up, and to the journey ahead.
Now for a cheeky, quick-fire Q&A so that you can get to know the team behind Floks a little better... we have not just one, but two yoga instructors!

Liz, Operations Director
Morning person or night owl? - Night owl
Coffee or tea? I can't get out of bed without a cup of Yorkshire tea, so it has to be tea.
If you could teleport anywhere for a day, where would you go?Copenhagen - my favourite city in the world.  If you haven't been, then I implore you to go....the people, the culture, the food... I've been pitching for a Danish branch of Floks since day one!
One book, podcast, or show you’d recommend to everyone? - For the ladies - 'It's not your head it's your hormones' By Dr Marion Gluck - a great in-depth read on what's going on with our hormones, how to help support your body naturally through nutrition and supplements, and also provides a greater understanding of HRT.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? - If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a long day? - I teach a couple of yoga classes a week, something I don't want to give up despite my busy day job, as I can see the huge physical and mental and emotional benefits that it brings. So it's got to be yoga for me.  Sometimes that means a fast, hot vinyasa class, sometimes a slower and more gentle yin class, or simply a meditative yoga nidra, it all depends on my mood.
Your personal mantra in one sentence? - I have everything I need (now I have wool bedding....)

Jodi, Customer sales and logistics coordinator
Morning person or night owl? Morning - 30 minutes alone after a good sleep is my ideal scenario!
Coffee or tea? Tea (and decaf cappuccino in my favourite cafe)
If you could teleport anywhere for a day, where would you go? The Maldives, with the people I love most joining me to rest and soak up the peace and warmth.
One book, podcast, or show you’d recommend to everyone? I'd like to choose a Substack channel; Holding Nothing by Elena Brower. I always relax and feel more grateful for humanity whenever I connect with Elena.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? You can't change anyone, you can only model the behaviours you wish to see from others.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a long day? A mini yoga reset and a sitting with my husband with a Fireplace for Your Home on Netflix in the background.
Your personal mantra in one sentence? It all starts with you.

Sara, Creative lead
Morning person or night owl?
I’m so not a morning person! But not a night owl either … so I don’t know what you would call that?
Coffee or tea?
Tea all the way – can’t live without it!
If you could teleport anywhere for a day, where would you go?
North Mallorca near the Tramuntana mountains. I’d spend the day swimming in my favourite cove, reading a book in the shade of an umbrella and then in the evening, a cold glass of cava overlooking my favourite view in the world, across a valley from the balcony of a much visited small hotel.
One book, podcast, or show you’d recommend to everyone?
Hard to narrow down to one book but if I have to then Any Human Heart by William Boyd.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Stop caring about what other people think. I’m not sure any one person gave me this advice rather I have realised with age that other people’s opinions of me are just not important. If you know that you are a good person with good intentions that’s all that matters. Its hugely freeing and something I wish my younger self had embraced.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a long day?
Sat in my garden with a cup of tea watching the birds.
Your personal mantra in one sentence?
Keep it simple.  This applies to everything – what I wear, eat, put on my skin, have in my home. I think that we are bombarded by too many choices and opinions and superfluous non essential stuff that life can just become overwhelming. It’s about eliminating the decisions that just don’t matter. Buy well and buy less and you won’t have to think about that choice ever again.
Emma, Customer care coordinator
Morning person or night owl? Definitely night owl – you won’t catch me at the gym at 6am.
Coffee or tea? Tea all the way. I'm not too sure how I'd get through the day without it. From a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea in the morning to a zen herbal brew in the evening, I love them all.
If you could teleport anywhere for a day, where would you go? Right now, I'd definitely pop off to a quiet little Greek island - somewhere like Sifnos in the Cyclades. I’ve travelled around the Greek islands a lot over the last 10 years and they are the perfect place to unwind - aquamarine seas, beautiful towns and villages, amazing and healthy food and super friendly locals.
One book, podcast, or show you’d recommend to everyone? I've just finished reading Wintering - The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times by Katherine May. It’s a beautifully reflective book that offers comfort and wisdom on embracing life's difficult seasons with rest, resilience, and renewal.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? One practical piece of advice that has really stuck with me from years ago is that you should invest in a good bed and good pair of shoes, because if you’re not in one, you’re in the other! Your feet carry you through life, and your bed is where your body repairs itself. Basically, take care of your body, and it will take care of you!
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a long day? Creating a nice place to relax is the key for me – ideally, I’d be at home with soft lighting, chilled tunes, relaxing fragrances, in my PJs and with a nice cold glass of dry white wine!
Your personal mantra in one sentence? I’ve always found it hard to summarise something like this, but I believe that showing kindness to others is one of the most important things we can do, and being kind to yourself is equally essential. To sum up - kindness costs nothing but means everything - extend it to others and to yourself, recognising your worth and embracing who you are.

Morning person or night owl?
100% a morning person. After a good nights sleep I can’t wait to get outside and get moving. I get nervous if I’m not in bed by 9.30pm.
Coffee or tea?
Tea, never drunk a proper cup of coffee… only cold and in a Martini glass and not after 2pm!
If you could teleport anywhere for a day, where would you go?
My heart will always belong in The Alps. Lake Annecy in France is such a special place for me… nothing beats skiing in the winter and swimming in the lake in the Summer.
One book, podcast, or show you’d recommend to everyone?
Think Like A Monk By Jay Shetty… so powerful and it inspired me to run with my dharma… i.e. Floks
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Life can turn on a sixpence… It’s one of my Dad’s lifelong sayings and it just always resonates, whatever the circumstance. When the going gets tough, you’re assured it will get easier and when it’s good, soak it up and be grateful - always, because it may not last.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a long day?
The most effective wind down for me is reading club with my eight-year-old. I shower straight after my boys, PJs on and then we sit in his bed together between 7.30 - 8pm and read our books independently. I hadn’t read much for a few years as I always fall straight to sleep, so carving out any other time, apart from holidays was too hard. The issue now is having to leave him to go to sleep and then finish house admin and/or work when I’m so relaxed!
Your personal mantra in one sentence?
Every day’s a holiday… another one from my Dad. I think what my Dad is talking about are glimmers – the small moments in the every day that spark joy. He’s 65 and has worked six days a week forever (also in retail!), so he’s not on holiday everyday!
