Field Notes: Edition 25
September 10th, 2026
As September draws us into Autumn and the longer days of summer begin to fade behind us, there is something that feels comforting about settling into a routine again.
The joy of routine…
We are leaning into the back to school feeling, with the urge to buy new stationery and school uniform, replaced for us, with the desire for new sheets, a stack of new fiction and a drawer of new pants! The thought of heading up to bed a little earlier with a good read and slipping into fresh new sheets making the transition into more of a routine a little easier. What we are loving this month (including a grown up pencil case):
Book
Extend summer just a little longer with this beautiful book 'Slanting Towards The Sea' documenting a contemporary love story set amongst the towns, coastline and olive groves of Croatia.
New sheets
Our calm and comforting sage bed linen makes slipping into bed a little earlier a treat. With a unique dual sided construction, using skin kind soft and buttery sateen organic cotton on one side, and textured hemp on the other, our bed linen is a little luxury for the new season.
New pants: Harry Duley
Proper pants with a shape to suit everyone and hand made from natural breathable fabrics. We will be topping up our knicker drawers for Autumn with these beautifully crafted pairs.
New stationery
We love everything our friends at Mark and Fold create and their new pencil cases and notebook covers are the perfect grown up stationery fix
A seasonal recipe
There seems to be an abundance of fruit adorning orchards this year and team Floks love nothing more than sharing recipes with each other to enjoy locally sourced ingredients, whether from our own gardens, gifted from neighbours or, on this occasion, following a visit to a local community orchard. Sara cooked up this delicious cake with her bag full of fresh plums: Antonia Parker's roasted plum, almond and yoghurt cake
