We have been asked a lot over the past few years for a pillow protector, so, we decided to do it the only way we know how – by creating the most luxurious natural pair of pillow cases (or is it a pillow topper?) that we could.

We know that we couldn’t make this kind of game changing bedding without some input from some very important third parties – so thank you to the farmers, the sheep, and to our artisan product makers. We owe our good sleep to you.

Our quilted pillow cases contain the highest quality, unbleached GOTS-certified organic cotton, quilted with a plush 300gsm layer of our signature wool - sourced from Cheviot sheep and fully traceable from British farmers. We use only the cleanest, brightest, and loftiest wool available.

Caring for your wool pillow case is easy - the
best thing you can do for your wool pillow case (or any of your wool bedding) is to put it outside on a sunny day to naturally revive and refresh the wool. If you feel you require a deeper clean, the pillow case has been designed to be carefully washed. We recommend that you read our full care guide here, but here’s a brief reminder for you -

1. Unzip the case and carefully remove
the pillow from the case.

2. Using a mild, wool detergent, gently
wash and rinse your pillow case in the same temperature water (a bath or large
sink is ideal). Gently press the excess water out - never twist or squeeze.

3. Leave your pillow case on a clean, flat surface to fully dry before re-filling

Yes you can, but you have to do it with care, and never in a washing machine. You can also hang your pillow case outside on a sunny day to refresh the wool instead of washing.

Here at Floks, we call shrinkage “felting” - Felting happens when wool fibres are twisted, agitated, or exposed to sudden temperature changes. Wool naturally has a crimp to it, which gets relaxed during it's natural processing. But if it’s handled roughly or washed incorrectly, the fibres tighten back up, causing that dreaded dense, shrunken feel.

The trick? Keep things gentle and consistent. The number one rule of washing wool is no agitation. The second? Match your water temperatures. If you start with warm water, rinse with warm water. If you wash in cold, rinse in cold. Sudden temperature shifts can shock the fibres, leading to unwanted shrinkage.
